Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) – Update 5/01/2020

Midland Garage Door is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for our employees, suppliers, and customers. To ensure that, we have developed a Preparedness Plan in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our goal is to mitigate the potential for transmission of COVID-19 in our facilities, and that requires full cooperation among workers, management, and any visitors to Midland. Only through this cooperative effort can we establish and maintain the safety and health of everyone at our facilities.

As part of this plan, we are still not allowing non-essential visitors. We are also taking further precautions with anyone entering our facilities. The following procedures are being implemented to assess the health status of employees, suppliers, and customers prior to entering the building.

Arriving at Midland:

For visitors deemed essential, you will be expected to participate with and adhere to these preventative measures. When arriving at Midland, your temperature will be taken via a no-touch thermometer. If you should produce a temperature reading of 100.4 degrees or higher, you will not be able to enter.

Additionally, you will be asked the following screening questions:

1. Are you currently experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms such as fever, sore throat, shortness of breath, or cough?

2. Are you ill or caring for someone that is ill?

3. Have you been in direct contact with someone that has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days?

If the answer is yes to any of these questions, you will not be able to enter the facility for the applicable recommended time.

Positive Test Results:

Finally, if you, or anyone you’ve had direct contact with, have tested positive within 14 days of being in contact with a Midland Garage Door employee, we are asking that you inform Midland Garage Door of the positive test result. This will give us an opportunity to take appropriate action and help prevent any further spread.

We are dedicated to doing everything we can to continue servicing our customers while keeping everyone safe. We appreciate your support, and we will continue to keep you informed of any updates throughout this situation.

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) – Update 4/09/2020

It has been a few weeks since we issued our response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Since then, we have heard from many customers thanking us for staying open. As this situation has continued, we have also heard from customers seeking reassurance for a variety of topics that could potentially affect their business. These topics include lead times, delivery schedules, and inventory/supply chains. Below I will address these topics to help alleviate any uncertainty.

None of the steps Midland has taken to minimize risk have affected our lead times. Our production timelines remain unchanged.

Delivery Schedules

Although we have changed some processes upon delivery to reduce customer interaction, we are scheduling deliveries as normal. Our dedicated drivers continue to travel across the country to make sure Midland delivers the products you need in a timely manner. If you see one of our drivers, please take some time to thank them for their efforts.

Inventory/Supply Chain

As indicated in our initial letter, we have a strong supply chain and our inventory levels are solid. Midland is well positionedto continue completing orders without interruption.

Overall, Midland is here for you and we will continue to provide industry leading products, service, and value throughout this situation and well into the future. So yes, Midland is, and will be, open for business, and I am proud of our team for continuing to make sure that happens with minimal disruption. I genuinely thank you for your ongoing support and will keep you informed of any updates moving forward.

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) – Update 3/25/2020

Today the State of Minnesota has issued further “Stay at Home” restrictions related to COVID-19. These restrictions are effective Friday March 27th until Friday April 10th and are intended for businesses deemed non-essential.

Midland Garage Door falls under the list of essential businesses as we supply our customers with products used for keeping facilities accessible and operational. This includes facilities for First Responders, Health-Care Providers, Transportation, and Residential Homes.

All Midland Garage Door facilities will continue to remain open to serve our customers with our full product line and we will continue to deliver with our fleet of delivery trucks.

We are continuing to do what is necessary to protect the safety of our employees as recommended by the CDC and OSHA.

We ask that all customers call ahead for pickups and stay in their vehicles while being loaded, so that our employees can keep a safe distance.

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) – Update 3/17/2020

At Midland Garage Door, it is our primary responsibility to keep our employees and customers safe. In response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, we feel it is important to share with you some of the steps we are taking to minimize risk.

To ensure we are doing what is necessary to help protect our employees at work, we are following recommendations from the CDC and OSHA. Some of the steps we are taking include:

• Frequently disinfecting common areas

• Staggering all breaks and lunch periods

• Promoting frequent and thorough handwashing

• Encouraging respiratory etiquette

• Instructing employees to stay home if they are sick or have symptoms
of acute respiratory illness

• Limiting unnecessary face-to-face meeting internally

• Discouraging employees from using other employee work stations

• Restricting vendor visits

• Restricting travel that is not required – including visits to customers

In addition to the steps we are taking at our facility, we are also conscious of our employee’s lives being disrupted because of this situation. To help reduce the potential strain, we are offering extreme flexibility for those who are taking care of kids at home due to school closures and those needing to stay home to provide care for themselves or sick family members.

From a manufacturing perspective, we are well positioned to endure any challenges this situation might create. We have a strong supply chain and our inventory levels are solid. We have ample capacity in our manufacturing facilities, and we are capable of covering an employee shortage.

Midland Garage Door is an extremely stable company and although this may cause some disruptions, it will not have any long-term impact to the business. We are here for our employees and our customers and we intend to stay open for business.

We are closely monitoring updates from the CDC and will continue to operate in a smart and safe manner. As always, we will continue to serve our customers at the highest level and will keep you informed of any updates moving forward.
